Detailed planning is essential when implementing XR applications. One approach is to develop goals, check feasibility, create a business case, select vendors, train staff and run pilots. I can help you with this.
The duration of the implementation depends on various factors, such as the size of the company, the complexity of the application, the number of users, the available resources and the amount of training required. In general, the implementation of XR tools takes from a few weeks to several months. A realistic estimate can be made during the planning phase.
Different people should be involved in the implementation of XR tools, depending on the area of application. In general, management, the IT department, the marketing team, sales and, if necessary, production staff should be involved in the implementation process. An interdisciplinary team considers the needs of all areas.
Implementing XR applications requires a clear objective, sufficient resources, suitable hardware and staff training. Detailed planning and a feasibility study are also important. This is where support from companies with experience of such projects comes in handy.
The hardware required depends on the type of application and the desired quality. VR presentations require VR glasses and cloud computing power. For AR presentations, a smartphone camera or special AR glasses can be used. Cameras and sensors to create 3D models and scans may also be required. An experienced XR provider can identify the appropriate hardware for the application.
Data quality is very important for a successful XR application as it has a significant impact on the level of realism. Poor data quality can lead to inaccurate simulations and unreliable results, resulting in poor decisions when designing and optimizing machines and systems. To ensure high data quality, data should be carefully checked and kept up to date. In the future, it is recommended that all metadata required for XR be maintained in the models at the machine design stage to avoid co-ordination errors and increase accuracy.
